WTC Accra to be launched early July 2011 in Ghana

- 17/06/2011
WTC Accra, led by Togbe Afede XIV, its chairman, is pleased to announce that it has entered into partnership with Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), a statutory public Trust in Ghana charged with the administration of Ghana’s basic national pension scheme. By this partnership, an iconic property, owned by SSNIT and located in the central business district of the capital, Accra, will be branded and used as the first WTC in Ghana.

SSNIT and WTC Accra are very excited about this collaboration, which promotes Ghana as a world-class destination in which to do business, trade investments and tourism. It is believed that having a WTC in Ghana is an endorsement that Ghana is ready and open for business. This partnership has tremendous potential to enhance the economic growth in Ghana.

Most importantly, with this partnership, SSNIT will achieve its objective of creating a first class property which will become the “United Nation” of trade and commerce in Ghana. This will be created using the WTC platform to attract global businesses as tenants to occupy the property.

Mr. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, the CEO of WTC Accra said, “The branding of the property as a WTC, a one-stop center for global trade and commerce, and the implementation of the WTC as a business model to manage the property, will make the building and its location the number one business address in Accra and the ultimate address for any business that wishes to establish a prestigious presence in Accra."

WTC Accra will be launched early July 2011, by the president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency and Professor John Evans Atta Mills. This is going to be a very big event in Accra, which will be attended by ministers of state, and members of the diplomatic corps, WTCA, international trade agencies and the business community.
