Visit to Shanghai Expo and WTCA Pavilion a very impressive experience
- 05/08/2010SHANGHAI -- I have just returned from a visit to EXPO Shanghai and, inside the Expo, to the WTCA pavilion. I am still in shock from the impressive dimensions of the exposition, the magnitude and the commitment of the participating countries, and the overall futuristic scene. On top of that, I was impressed by the perfect organization that keeps everything working smoothly and looking clean and shining, despite the flood of about 500,000 visitors per day.
Inside and in the very middle of all that, I was amazed at the great impact of the WTCA Pavilion -- by its size, its central location and its appeal. Annie Wu and her associates, a cosmopolitan team of young and enthusiastic people, are managing an average of 15,000 visitors to the WTCA pavilion per day, often queuing for an hour before being admitted. Inside the pavilion, companies present products and services, broadcast TV shows and sell souvenirs. Annie Wu has also been able to associate a Chinese South Korean conglomerate with, among other things, TV stations and direct sales solutions via TV broadcasts, which support the marketing actions for the products on display, for actions destined to last well beyond the EXPO.
The Pescara WTC team, which I escorted to the Pavilion, introduced the De Cecco pasta company, which is going to perform a number of tastings and demonstrations
inside the WTCA pavilion in cooperation with their local importers and distributors. In addition, we have also introduced OICE, the Italian National Association of Civil Engineers, which will display projects developed by some of their members, and separately, a team of Italian architects that is proposing a new concept for an amusement park called Pinocchioworld.
All these groups are going to take advantage of the pavilion and the services the Annie Wu team makes available for promoting and marketing in the Chinese business environment. I expect other Italian companies to also take advantage of the WTCA Pavilion and of the enormous visibility it offers for their promotional and marketing activities in the Chinese market.
This is a rare opportunity for WTCs and their client companies to promote and market services and products in China......
